| Pitlochry New Year's Day celebrations - 1 January

The Pitlochry New Year's Day celebration was
started in 2000 and has been a great success ever since. With up to 3000
people participating there is a real party atmosphere. Atholl Road,
Pitlcohry's main street, is closed to traffic from 2pm to 4pm and the ceilidh band
leads the entire town in a ceilidh.
Sausage rolls (thousands of them), soup and pies are provided free of charge by
the generous Macdonald Brothers butchers.

| Pitlochry Etape Caledonia closed cycle race - 13 May
2012 |

A hugely popular event both with participants and
supporters. The Etape Caledonia is the only closed road race in Britain
covering 81 miles of wonderful Highland Perthshire roads. The
race starts and finishes in Pitlochry. With over 4,500 entrants each
year, the places in the race and local accommodation sells out fast. Book
early!

| Atholl Highlanders Gathering and Parade - 26 and 27 May

This unrivalled spectacle gives visitors the chance to participate in a
unique Highland tradition that has persisted for generations. The two day
Atholl Gathering consists of The Atholl Highlanders' Parade on Saturday
followed by the Highland Games on Sunday.
The Parade is the annual inspection by the Duke of Atholl of his own
private army, The Atholl Highlanders. This takes place in front of Blair
Castle to the rousing sound of the pipes and drums. Quite a sight and quite
a sound!

| The Highland Open Golf Competitions - 4 to 10 August
2012 |

The Highland Open is held just 2 minutes up the
road from Torrdarach House at the Pitlochry Golf Course. This is a
tournament open to amatuers and continues to be extremely popular event both on
and off the course with entrants coming from all over the
world.
A visually stunning golf course with cracking
views, this little part of Highland Perthshire is sometimes known as 'little
Switzerland'.

| Blair Castle Horse Trials - 23 to 26 August

Blair Castle Horse Trials and
Country Fair is Scotland's leading equestrian event, running over four days in
August each year and attracting in excess of 37,000 visitors.
The Bruadar Country Fair runs alongside
the equestrian activities on the Saturday and Sunday, featuring displays of both
traditional and more modern countryside pursuits.

One of the very last Highland Games of a long
Season, Pitlochry Highland Games hosts the finals of a number of
the major competitions. A classic Highland Games with all the competition and
entertainment you would expect.
With sport, pipe bands, dancing and a multitude of
other entertainment this is a fantastic family day out.

| The Enchanted Forest - October 2012 |

Attracting around 20,000 visitors a year, The
Enchanted Forest is a tremendous sound and light
show. Set this year in The Explorers Woodland Garden in Pitlochry it will be

| Winter Words Festival - January 2013 |

Held at the Pitlochry Festival
Theatre and spanning four days in January, Winter Words is a festival of
literature and spoken word with well known authors of all kinds giving readings and
an interesting series of talks, book signings and workshops. There are a
number of events designed for the whole family.
