The construction of the new breakfast room extension went well and is now complete. Hurray! We fitted the oak floor last week and cleaned and furnished the room this weekend. The malt cupboard, which is now the entrance to the new breakfast room, has been relocated to new shelving on the other side of the fireplace in the lounge.
The new breakfast room has some great views into the garden and over Pitlochry. Difficult to photograph, but the snaps below should give you some idea of what we have done. Professional photos will follow later in the year.

We have had an incredibly productive first 8 days building the new breakfast room extension.
From starting to dig foundations to wind and water tight in less than two weeks! Let’s hope things continue this smoothly.

Planning permission came through before Christmas and work starts tomorrow – our new south-east facing breakfast room.
We have already done some serious pruning of two giant rhododendrons so the new building will have a clear view down into the woods.
I have attached some before and after photos of the rhoddy removal and two drawings of the new extension. Should all be done in about six weeks time. Exciting.
